AJ2025 is getting ready to take you on the quest of a lifetime. You're going to have an incredible time – making heaps of cool memories and new friends. You'll also be tested and challenged along the way – so why not make it an SIA?
'Special Interest Areas' encourage Scouts from all sections to take on new personal challenges, or follow existing interests to greater depths, just like a Jamboree.
This offers a unique opportunity to make the most of AJ2025 by incorporating an SIA. This could be anything! You could plan a service project to implement at Jamboree, or research the rich history and ecology of Maryborough. How about researching the history of Australian (or even World!) Jamborees? They were filled with Scouts making history – just like you're about to do!
This isn't just limited to Scouts – are you a Venturer or a Rover working on a team where you'll be learning or developing a new skill? Make it count towards your Peak Award!
If you want to complete an SIA as part of AJ2025, you will need to get it approved first, through Plan, Do, Review:
Plan: Submit the SIA idea to your Unit Council for approval to start.
Do: Do the SIA. This can take place before, during, or after AJ2025.
Review: Review your project, report back to your Unit, and get it signed off by Unit Council.
