The Rural Fire Service (RFS) has been a proud and integral part of AJ2025, ensuring the Jamboree is both safe and enjoyable for everyone involved. With a dedicated team of 20 staff and volunteers, the RFS has gone above and beyond to support the Scouts and Leaders during this massive event.

Operating in two shifts around the clock, with five personnel per shift, the RFS presence has been hard to miss. Their impressive fleet of four vehicles includes everything from large heavy-duty fire trucks to medium tankers holding up to 1,800 litres of water, as well as versatile utes and all-terrain vehicles. These vehicles have been on-site, ready to respond to any incidents and showcasing the cutting-edge equipment that helps keep communities safe.

The team at AJ2025 hails from the Gympie, Maryborough, and Bundaberg regions, bringing with them a wealth of local expertise. They represent a small but mighty contingent of Queensland’s Rural Fire Service, which boasts an incredible 28,000 volunteers and 200 staff members across the state. Many of these volunteers are farmers and graziers who come together to protect their lands and communities from bushfires. In fact, the RFS handles a staggering 90% of bushfire incidents across Queensland, while Fire and Rescue teams tackle urban fires, car accidents, and burning structures.

For the RFS team at AJ2025, this Jamboree holds special significance. Many of the staff and volunteers are former Scouts and Scout Leaders themselves, making this a homecoming of sorts. Their shared values of service, community, and resilience shine through in their work, both here at AJ2025 and beyond.

“It’s been a privilege to be part of the camp and to contribute to making it a safe and happy Jamboree,” one RFS volunteer shared. The sentiment echoes the broader spirit of the Jamboree, where everyone pitches in to create an unforgettable experience.

To the Rural Fire Service team: thank you for your dedication, hard work, and for showing us all what it means to look out for one another. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and we’re grateful to have you as part of the AJ2025 family!

Bravo RFS!!
