Receiving a package is always a delight, especially when away from home. Over the course of the Jamboree, the mailroom has received hundreds of packages a day, all sent with love from friends and families around the country.
Australia Post has assisted by bringing the mail straight to the Jamboree site, where it is sorted into subcamps by our amazing team from Support Services. After being taken to each subcamp, they are distributed to the eagerly waiting Scouts.
These packages range from letters in envelopes to hampers in big boxes, many of which contain lots of dry shoes and socks, and of course lollies. For our mail team, by far the hardest part is delivering the mail around site. Each subcamp has a big box or two each day containing all their care packages, although Fraser Coast had by far the most mail today with three overflowing boxes!
