IMPORTANT FUTURE SCOUT DAY/VISITORS DAY UPDATE:

If you are not already in the Maryborough/Hervey Bay region, we ask that you reconsider attending due to the impact of the weather forecast. If you are still planning to attend, please be aware that there will be delays in the offsite parking process. There will be no visitor access to the Tuan and Fraser Coast sub-camps due to the rainfall overnight. Please prepare for a variety of weather:- Bring suitable wet weather gear including raincoats, closed-in shoes, and umbrellas.- Think about how your footwear will hold up in wet and possibly muddy conditions.- Please also have sun protection in mind: Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on some sunnies. We're looking forward to you joining us to see all the fun we're having at the Jamboree.
- The entire team at AJ2025
We welcome Joeys and Cubs to the AJ2025 site on 11 January to experience what Jamboree is like. These ‘Future Scouts’ are invited to explore the Jamboree site and see what is on offer, including:
Visiting Scouts Heritage
Checking out the Activity Zones:
Your Action- Movement games and activities
Your Discovery- S.T.E.M activities to get you thinking
Your Choice- Exploring the main areas of the site
Your Summit- Watch how we soar to new heights
Browsing products at the Scout Shop
Playing Contingent Bingo- this will be in your information booklet that you’ll receive when you arrive
The $20 ‘Future Scouts’ entry will include a badge, a welcome booklet and a small gift.
While you are here, you can visit Scouts from your Group if you know what Unit they are in. Please reach out to the Unit’s JSL to arrange this if you can. There are no offsite activities running, so all Scouts will be onsite and free to explore with their families (outside of their Market Day responsibilities).
An important spot on the AJ2025 site is the Visitor’s Information Tent, opposite the Scout Shop. This will be where adults need to go to collect their Visitor’s Day Badge, and extra Future Scout Kits will also be available for purchase here for $10 each.
Important Information:
If you are no longer planning on coming, but have already registered, please let us know.
Thank you to everyone who has already paid for the day. If you have paid, and there are no changes to your account, there will be a link to your e-ticket on the application page. We recommend you print it out, but can check tickets on phones if needed. Please also have ID in case you are chosen for one of our random adult ID checks.
What to bring:
Sun-safe hat
Enclosed shoes
Sunscreen
Water bottle (these can be refilled around site)
Lunch and snacks
Optional: Money (street food vendors, Scout shop, contingent shops)
Just a few tips and reminders:
Please do not drive to the Jamboree Site (unless you are in a group transport vehicle that has a permit).
Parking is at the Maryborough Speedway at 300 Gympie Rd, Tinana, QLD, 4650. Parking opens at 9am.
Shuttle buses will start approx. 9:45 and will run all day. There’s no stop time.
Uniform is preferred if you have it, however, with potential hot weather you may choose to bring another top to wear underneath to wear during travel.
Please be SunSmart! Bring sunscreen and apply it regularly, including before you arrive. Don’t forget sun-safe clothing and enclosed shoes (crocs and thongs are not suitable or safe footwear for this campsite).
Rain is possible. Be prepared for this; in Maryborough the rain is often short but drenching.
Despite being Future Scout Day, other visitors are also welcome onsite on this day. As usual all visitors need to book in advance.
We can’t wait to see all our Future Scouts at Jamboree on the 11 January. Be ready for Your Quest, Your Way!
