It's time to get your WHOA on – Mitch Tambo is here to ROCK!
AJ2025's Opening Ceremony was non-stop action, starring a talented Scout Cast, honoured dignitaries, and the incredible Aria award winning and number one Australian Gamilaraay artist, Mitch Tambo.
Mitch's strong energy filled the Main Arena as he belted Aussie rock classics – including his bilingual cover of 'You're the Voice' – while he captivated everyone in attendance with vibrant Indigenous artwork on the big screens.
“Can we have the loudest, most epic sit down party ever‽” Mitch called to the Scouts, feeding off the deafening cheers and immense energy that felt electric through the crowd. “I want you to sit-down party like you've never sat-down partied before!”
As a Gamilaraay and Birri Gubba man, Mitch has used his musical talent to embrace his identity and bring his Aboriginal culture to the stage.
One young Scout in particular could not contain his excitement throughout Mitch's performance. Jordy, FC002, is an Indigenous Scout with a passion for music – particularly Indigenous music.
“I love music!” he said. “It was so cool to see an Indigenous rock star on the Jamboree stage!”
Mark, Jordy's father and Scout Leader, was so grateful for the strong connection that entranced Jordy.
“It's so important to find this passion,” Mark said. “Every Scout should get the opportunity to experience this.”
