When you are in The Mall don’t forget to say hello to Ron and Kay from Grey Nomad’s Coffee.

When Ron and Kay retired from being professional chefs four years ago, I bet they didn’t expect to be serving coffee and treats to over 9000 people at AJ2025! They sold up their catering business with four trucks and two mobile kitchens in Townsville and moved to Hervey Bay. It didn’t take long for them to start their new business, Grey Nomad’s Coffee. Operating out of their van and towing their 19ft caravan, they spent 8 months travelling around Australia before returning to Hervey Bay.

They were initially invited to bring their van to AJ2025 for a single day, but the great news is they will now be caffeinating the sleepy Leaders for the whole Jamboree. If attending a Jamboree wasn’t exciting enough, they have decided to extend their long journey from Hervey Bay by going around Australia again straight after Jamboree. Joining them on their journey are their two Maltese dogs, Bella and Nessie, who feature on their van’s logo. Along their journey they will be meeting their son in Melbourne to see Bryan Adams in Concert. They will complete their circuit of the country in time to bring their local Hervey Bay coffee to the Weipa Fishing Classic Competition in Northern Queensland in June.

With their easy going nature and fun sense of humour, they have fast become a Jamboree and Media team favourite!
