FROM THE CAMP CHIEF
Good morning, all.
We woke to lovely sunshine which allowed our camp to start the drying phase, only to have
further rain in the afternoon.
But that did not slow us down as we continued to deliver our program activities. We welcomed further visitors to AJ2025 yesterday numbering around 400 people. More
families visiting to catch up with their Scouts/Venturer Scouts.
I had the chance to have Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with Units yesterday so thanks to FC035, FC019 and T046. The welcome was warm and friendly. The meal was great, and the conversations were fantastic.
Talking to our youth members, listening, and hearing what they have enjoyed at AJ2025, the friends they have made, the activities they have enjoyed was great.
It was good hear about Scouting in their home units/groups, the other interests they have outside of Scouting (how anyone can have an interest outside of scouting is weird to me) and the fun they have had at AJ2025.
I caught up with youth members from the Fijian Contingent and then had a quick chat with the contingent Leader of the Republic of South Korea. The international contingents are certainly enjoying the Australian hospitality so a huge thank you to everyone, within the Units, Service Leaders /Venturer Scouts/Rover Scouts for the making them feel so welcome.
It was then onto International Night. WOW!
We had such a wonderful experience displayed from all contingents, highlighting the importance of their cultural heritage through to modern day dynamics of their people. The performances were modern, vibrant, enthusiastic, engaging, colourful and patriotic.
BRAVO to our International Contingents!
We presented small tokens of appreciation to each contingent leader, which reflected Australian Wildlife, and a AJ2025 Scarf.
I continue to be impressed and proud of the attitude of our youth members in dealing with the ongoing rain events, and their determination not to be discouraged.
I have not spoken to 1 person yet who is not having a great time at AJ2025.
Have a great day and good Scouting.
